Cara Long Wide Celtic Braided Cable Weave Shawl Crochet Pattern

Cozy up this winter! Crochet this Cara Celtic shawl. Made of Premier Puzzle Yarn and designed by Robin Harley. Very flattering, long, wide, and warm. Measures approximately 22 3/4 inches wide by 86 inches in length.

MATERIALS:

Size J Hook

6 - 7 ounce balls Premier Puzzle Yarn (color in images is no longer available) Can be purchases through Premier Yarns or Herrschners Yarn. Both companies are good to buy from.

Blunt Needle

Markers to mark stitches

STITCHES:

TCH: Turning Chain

FPTR: Front Post Treble Crochet

BPTR: Back Post Treble Crochet

ST: Stitch

CH: Chain

DC: Double Crochet

NOTES:

* All beginning chains count as a stitch (hdc, dc, etc.)

* All last stitches, the turning chain (tch) are counted as a stitch and need to be worked.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Chain 78

Row 1: Working in the back ridge of chains, dc in 4th ch from hook and each st across. Turn. 76 dc's

Row 2: Ch 3, * fptr in next st, bptr in next st * Repeat * to * across until you reach turning chain, dc in tch. Turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, * fptr in next st, bptr in next st * Repeat * to * across until you reach turning chain, dc in tch. Turn.

Row 4: Ch 3, * fptr in next st, bptr in next st * Repeat * to * across until you reach turning chain, dc in tch. Turn.

Row 5: Ch 3, * fptr in next st, bptr in next st * Repeat * to * across until you reach turning chain, dc in tch. Turn.

Row 6: Ch 3, * fptr in next st, bptr in next st * Repeat * to * across until you reach turning chain, dc in tch. Turn.

Row 7: Ch 3, dc in each st across. 76 dc's

Skip 2 sts, fptr around next 2 sts See Image 1, (working around in front of 2 fptr’s just made, starting at farthest skipped st) fptr around 2 skipped sts See Image 2, fptr around next 2 sts See Image 3, dc in next st, fptr in next st (place a marker here), dc in next st.
