Where's row 26?
ReplyDeleteThank you for bringing this to my attention. I miss numbered and have corrected.
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern, very pretty. Row 20 - 24 says to repeat rows 2 and 3 twice. That is four rows 20 - 23? I just kept continuing on adjusting the row numbers by one since there was no row 24. I hope I did this right, it looks fine so far.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this lovely shawl pattern.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention and have corrected it. Have a wonderful day and also, thank you for the compliment.
ReplyDeleteBonjour,
ReplyDeleteQuelqu'un pourrait me le traduire en français, svp merci

DeleteAre you able to do Google Translate like I was able to do on your question? Here's the link: https://translate.google.com/?hl=en
DeleteWhat is the finished size? It's beautiful. I may make it bigger for a blanket. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWoops, will add this to the directions. Here is the finished size: approximately 20 inches wide by 64 inches in length
DeleteHi there, I'm working up this pattern in a swatch to learn the stitches and making sure I understand the pattern. There's one thing that doesn't match with your pictures. You state that R2 you sl st in back loop of the hdcs and do this across the row, however it doesn't create the same look as your picture. What does create that look is doing a sc in the 3rd loop of the previous hdc. Is that what you meant?
ReplyDeleteTry slip stitching in the loop under that back loop. If you look there is one below the back loop and looks just a tad different. Does this make sense? I had that in the beginning but it confused some, so I knocked it down to the basic back loop.
DeleteI'm so sorry, I wanted to preface my comment with a huge compliment. This shawl is beautiful! When my girlfriend and I first saw this, it took our breath away. She had been wanting me to make a shawl for her and this is the winner. Such great work!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much. Am going to work on another one and would like to come up with a blanket. Thank you again for such a lovely comment.
DeleteWhat you described is exactly what I was talking about. It's called the "3rd loop" and it's on the back of a half double crochet stitch, not the same as the back loop, which is why I wasn't getting the same effect as your picture. I ended up trying it with the slip stitch and it worked. I also tried it with sc but would require an extra row the next time it was repeated so that it ended up on the correct side. I really appreciate your reply and confirmation. Thank you! I bet the blanket will be gorgeous. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYes it is called the 3rd loop or I remember it being the back ridge. Could not remember what is was called yesterday but could describe it. Am glad I could help you and you are more than welcome.
DeleteHello, it's me again. I'm having a heck of a time with the pattern. I think I need to go back to the very beginning.
ReplyDelete1) you say chain 245.
2) then it says hdc in the 3rd ch from hook. If that's the case, then you'd have 243 hdc not the 244 like you state.
Can you please clarify how many hdc I should have after row 2? It's really messing up the pattern once I get to the basket weave. Something isn't making sense.
Thanks.
You would be correct and it's okay that you ask. I'm not perfect at all and have made mistakes on these patterns. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Also, I do not have this shawl anymore and am unable to count the hdc's. If you find anything else, please ask. Thank you!
DeleteI believe this should work and am sorry for all the errors. My writing is not good and this pattern was so long it was hard to type up what was written on paper. Thank you for your patience!
DeleteHello again. I took some time away from the pattern and now I'm back. I have more questions.
ReplyDeleteRow 4: does the chain 3 at the beginning count as a dc? The pattern doesn't state this.
Row 6: says to repeat row 2. However the previous row is not hdcs but rather dcs. When you slip stitch into the back loop (and you stated earlier that you meant 3rd loop) there needs to be a row of hdcs to make this happen. Hdcs have that 3rd loop not dc. Is there a row that's missing?
Hello. Am going to make this on the weekend and go over each row if you can hang in there, I can add more clarity to the questions and see what typo(s) I've made. Thank you for your patience and will get back to you through this reply.
